[MOD] Update regarding valeriechew + general tips
This is a new update in regards to a recent post I made here about a serial scammer from Singapore. She operates mainly in sg_jesales and her accounts have been banned here, but I have decided to make another post due to the persistence she has shown in making new posts under different journals every day or two to continue scamming other unsuspecting fans.

Here is a full list of her known accounts thus far:

Again, please exercise caution when coming across a new buyer you don't recognize. Here are some quick and easy tips for you to minimize the risk of being scammed when purchasing goods online:

- Check the date their account was created on. This is located in the profile and will say something like "Created on 14 November 2013". Not all new accounts are scammers, of course, but it's a good rule of thumb to be more cautious if they are new.
- Check to see whether the pictures of the goods seem to similar or if they're all different. By similar I'm referring to the same background such as the same floor, same bedding, etc. If they're different, it's likely that these were taken directly from Yahoo Auctions even if the images were resized or uploaded to the seller's LJ.
- Ask for more pictures, especially with the seller's username on a piece of paper in the photo as proof that they actually own the goods. This will ensure that they're not just searching for more photos on Yahoo Auctions or Google Images to send to you.
- When in doubt, always ask questions. This may come off as annoying to some sellers, but the important thing here is your own safety!

I hope I haven't forgotten anything. If you have anything else to add-- be it your own experiences with Valerie Chew (this is her actual name and she can be found on Facebook as well, confirmed to be her account by a victim who had met up with her) or helpful tips that I've left out, feel free to leave a comment. Thank you!

thank you for updating us! i dont know why she continued doing this but i hope together we can make her stop. it's making other sellers who really want to sell off their things really difficult, its like she's breaking the trust among the community :(
please continue updating us! really thank you for this post!
